It was a dark and
cold (-12C/-21WC) morning as we stumbled around getting a quick
breakfast before our taxi came. Our taxi came and the flight from
Charlottetown took off with no problem. There was no time in Toronto
to really look around because of the time needed to clear US Customs.
Two security checks and six different lines to scan our boarding
passes, going to a machine to take your picture for Homeland
Security. I mean why else would you need another photo when you have
your passport. Once on the plane with no time to spare, we were off
to Tampa.
Once in Tampa, we
called our hotel and the shuttle picked us up. What a transformation
in temperature! Even though the locals were freezing, we thought
that 20C was quite pleasant. For lunch, we went around the corner to
the Brick House Pub – see the picture on Gail's facebook page. It
is a huge pub with great service, which is something the Americans do
well and good food and cold beer. If our dollar had been worth a
dollar, it would also have been a bargain! As a matter of fact, we
ended up going back for dinner as it was so close.
Travel Note: I paid
$1.4975 for US$ at the bank.
