Arriving at the ship
(m/s Veendam), we went directly to the dining room for lunch. After
lunch, there was the mandatory life boat drill. Anyone not attending
and trying to hide is put ashore as it is for your own safety.
Remember the Titanic! We then attended the welcome reception and
managed to score our share, as well as some extra champagne. Gail is
like one of the sniffer dogs when it comes to free booze. Then it
was dinner and shopping. Every night they feature fantastic deals on
different products. Tonight was cheap booze. A litre of Bacardi Rum
for less than $10! Well, okay, $15 CDN.
